ELAC’s Debut series speakers were designed by industry legend Andrew Jones with the goal of making quality hi-fi speakers at an affordable price. Jones, who has designed speakers for KEF, Infinity, Pioneer, and Technical Audio Devices, noticed many high-end companies lack the resources to build quality lower-cost speakers; their overhead is simply too high. Determined to make good sound more accessible to the masses, he set out to create entry-level speakers that offer high-end sound quality at a lower price than other brands on the market.
ELAC’s Debut series, launched in 2015, became the best-selling modestly-priced speaker in the U.S. within 6 months. Since then, ELAC has introduced the Debut 2.0 series, featuring a new tweeter capable of extending the response to 35,000kHz – beyond the range of human hearing. The tweeter’s housing reduces cabinet interference while providing a wide dispersion pattern, producing exceptional sound. All ELAC speakers can be mixed and matched, allowing you to choose from a variety of configurations to create the perfect balance of sound in your space.
ELAC subwoofers are engineered with specially designed internal bracing to add stiffness and strength to the outer walls. This greatly reduces cabinet vibration which can cause unwanted sound coloration. Several models incorporate ELAC’s advanced digital control system, which allows you to control the subwoofer from your smartphone. Using the app and your smartphone’s microphone, the subwoofers will automatically equalize to your room’s characteristics using a 12-band parametric equalizer. Manual adjustments can be made as well.
